I'm in Taipei at the moment* experimenting with following the exact itinerary ChatGPT suggested. It's been working shockingly well, so I've made my own custom GPT (Dawnward Travel) that knows my and my wife Dawn's interests, food requirements, souvenir desires, etc. https://t.co/4E7jNkgDdD
How People Are Using AI For Travel Planning
In 2025, travelers are offloading trip design to AI: ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok build day-by-day plans from flight/hotel details, pull Google Maps reviews, and even push charging stops straight to Tesla navigation. Frequent flyers report big time savings and hyper-personalized picks, while on-the-road chat handles food finds and closures. The catch: occasional hallucinations (e.g., a full day on Feb 29) mean you still sanity-check and lock preferences.

@brettk351 @ScottPh77711570 @TMFScottP @grok Yes, it may be artificial but it's the only intelligent replies you get in some threads @steel1707 and I just toured Italy in a motorhome and I got @Grok to largely plan it for me. It was an absolutely outstanding success Don't knock it until you've tried it, mate
Really impressed with Grok in my Teslas. I drove by a campground and it was able to tell me everything, cost, the amenities, main attractions, distance from camping to boat launch, and closest place to get picnic food. It was really like having a personal assistant. https://t.co/0W0KRaOcDx
Was trying to plan my June trip on ChatGPT. I thot the itinerary was quite decent, but with every prompt it kept hallucinating and adding or subtracting things that i dont want or still want even when the prompt did not tell it to do so
So @elonmusk we are traveling in Europe and Grok has been our constant companion and tour guide. We don’t need to spend money on tour guides anymore with Grok along for the trip. My hubby used ChatGPT for something and it didn’t tell him the site was closed to the public but when I used Grok it was one of the first things it told me. Loving traveling with Grok. Thank you.
one of the best use-case of Gemini. you can fetch the Google Maps reviews and summarise it. definitely useful for planning vacation https://t.co/70EgGDFJFu
@housecor I actually used Claude Code to plan my vacation. Generated a website with a schedule for each day, multiple options with photos of locations, google map links and alternative options for each day depending on the weather.
Offered to help my parents with planning a trip to Japan - my dad said no need, I did a few iterations with Gemini, chatGPT and Meta AI and I’m good. AI can take my job but didn’t expect it to take my type A daughter duties so soon.
My wife was driving to the beach and she called me to ask how to get to the lighthouse - it's where we were baptized and engaged (tough to find) I couldn't remember either so I got the specific beach number and location from Grok and sent it directly to her car's navigation system (from my phone) so she didn't have to do a thing while driving. The directions and routing appeared instantly on her car's UI The little things about Tesla ownership you can't appreciate until you experience it $TSLA
After using @grok in my Tesla tonight, I’m insanely impressed. I honestly went into it a bit skeptical on how useful it would actually be, but I asked it some real genuine questions and it nailed it every time. Asked it if I take my Tesla to San Francisco next week, where should I stop to charge it- Grok suggested the Tesla lounge in Kettleman City and grabbing a meal at Harris Ranch. Also asked it political questions and it was perfectly neutral. Gave both sides and asked me thoroughly what I thought as well to shape its answer to my question. Asked it for food suggestions for dinner with friends tomorrow night, gave me some solid recommendations for a fun night out, also asked about where is cheap to eat and the best pizza in the area and it gave the exact place I would say and a place I frequently go to. I asked Grok to give me a recommendation for best driving roads in the area and it gave the exact roads I always go drive on and specifically mentioned the car enthusiasts frequent them. 10/10 nailed it. It gave me a prompt to sign in, and the Tesla app gave me a notification to authenticate it and it signed right into my account. Couldn’t have been any easier. So easy to have a conversation with, and doesn’t feel like it’s AI at all. Absolutely blown away, and didn’t expect I would be as much as I am. Can’t wait to use this every single drive. Well done @xai!
I just got back from my first trip to Japan. I was apprehensive about visiting a new country where I don’t speak the language. But I shouldn’t have worried - I had ChatGPT, which is BY FAR the best travel hack. How to use it on international trips (w/ prompts) 👇 https://t.co/hQNLce1wT4
If you are worried about AI taking your job just know that chatGPT made me an itinerary for my upcoming trip and included a full day of activities for February 29th.
This. THIS is my favorite Claude use case. Take an ungodly amount of data and preferences, shove it into Claude, ask for an interactive decision-making bot, ask for scoring and reward mechanism, personalize as necessary. Brands will now calibrate for human+AI decisions. https://t.co/uhSZGQ8Brx
